1972

Early Inspiration. In 1972, HEICO SPORTIV founder and managing director, Holger Hedtke, discovered his passion for Volvo and the Scandinavian way of life.

 

1982

It came as no surprise, therefore, that, when he came to choose his first car, he opted for a Volvo. A 1973 vintage Volvo 144.

 

1989

Combining passion and career: Volvo car showroom Hedtke opens in Weiterstadt.

 

1995

The starting shot: HEICO Motorsport (Wiesbaden) develops two Volvo 850 Turbo Group A on behalf of Volvo Germany which competed successfully in the 24h Race at the Nürburgring Nordschleife from 1995 to 1997.

 

1996

From the racetrack to the road: First products derived from HEICO SPORTIV’s motorsport engagement go on sale for road vehicles; available products include performance enhancements, sport brake systems and differential locks.

 

1998

In 1998, HEICO Motorsport (Wiesbaden)’s successful engagement resulted in HEICO SPORTIV (Weiterstadt)’s first in house-developed and deployed Group A racing-touring car based on the Volvo S40 2.0. HEICO SPORTIV given the title “Official Volvo Motorsport Partner”.

 

1999

Formation of HEICO SPORTIV GmbH & Co. KG and relocation to Darmstadt to its own four walls.

 

2000

Market launch of first VOLUTION® sport rims and establishment of the successful “HEICO Design”.

 

2001

Volvo V40 T4 SPORT EDITION: the first special model for Volvo Automobile (Switzerland) AG.

 

2004

Back to Weiterstadt. HEICO SPORTIV occupies new company premises in close proximity of the Weiterstadt car showroom.

 

2006

Construction of the ConceptCar HEICO HS3 Thor on behalf of Volvo Car Corporation for the SEMA SHOW in Las Vegas.

 

2007

Development of the ConceptCar HEICO HS8 HPC on behalf of Volvo Car Corporation for the SEMA SHOW in Las Vegas.

 

2007

Development of the HEICO C30 on behalf of Volvo Car Corporation for the SEMA SHOW in Las Vegas.

 

2007

First victory of the HEICO HS4 ODIN with bioethanol E85 at a VLN race on 15 September 2007.

 

2008

HEICO SPORTIV named recommended partner for vehicle customization by Volvo Car Germany and Volvo Cars Overseas Corporation (2008-2013).

 

2008

29 Volvo V70/XC70 upgraded with HEICO SPORTIV’s performance enhancement on behalf of Volvo Car Special Vehicles for the UK and Irish police forces.

 

2009

HEICO SPORTIV named recommended partner for vehicle customization by Volvo Automobile (Switzerland) AG (2009-2013).

 

2009

Special model Volvo XC70 “Husky” for Volvo Automobile (Switzerland) AG.

 

2010

Special model V70 T6 SPORT EDITION for Volvo Automobile (Switzerland) AG.

 

2010

First victory with Bioethanol E85 at ADAC 24h Race at the Nürburgring on 16 May 2010.

Still more space needed. A building extension provides a dedicated, high-functionality area for the dynaomometer and motorsports business; the addition of a new floor to the administration building doubles the office space.

Development of the limited special models Volvo S60 T6 by HEICO SPORTIV (100 vehicles) for Volvo Car Germany.

Market launch of the new technology e.motion® (“efficiency in motion”) for efficiently enhancing the performance of Volvo vehicles.

First HEICO SPORTIV Premium Partner opens in Bangkok/Thailand.

HEICO SPORTIV is world’s first supplier to offer performance enhancements for the new VEA engines, as well as Vmax override with its Speedpack product.
